Weathermap

The Weathermap provides a live representation of data traffic flows over the network, and is supported by the WAND group at the University of Waikato.

Live Weathermap

The weathermap displays traffic flows over our national and international networks. The data used in the weathermap is the same data that is used in the management and monitoring of the network and is based on a 1 minute average polling cycle. Detailed traffic information between members can be accessed by hovering over or clicking on a node or link on the map below.

Archived Weathermap animations

Do you want to see what was happening over the network yesterday or 9 months ago? These 2 and a half minute long animations pull together snapshots of Weathermap images showing traffic over the network over the course of a day. Archived data from 1 October 2008 onwards is available.
